Certificates of Authenticity

Certificates of Authenticity Sotherbys We are the ONLY company that has certificates of authenticity signed by Graham Budd, Sotheby’s consultant and associate auctioneer for sales of sporting memorabilia in London.

The majority of the shirts, boots and trophies have come direct from players, club officials, charity auctions, player's family members and reputable football memorabilia dealers.

The certificate from Graham Budd Auctions will mean that as a buyer, if you ever sell the item, there is a photo of the item recorded at Graham Budd Auctions office as well as a copy of the original certificate.

A lot of the shirts that we sell have been signed by the players, which does not increase the value; in fact, there are some collectors who prefer them not to be signed, however the majority would prefer them to be signed, which is why we do it.

A guy came to me last month with seventeen shirts he'd bought on ebay, all described as 'match worn'. When we took them to be authenticated, it turned out they were not originals and were only worth about £40 each - the price of a replica and I'm sure he paid a lot more than £40 each for them.

We are the only company that guarantees a level of authenticity that you can trust.
